Dear Cheryl,

First, Congrats!

Before I mention some solutions, it would be important to determine the cause.

Generally, during any hormonal change, the skin can become more sensitive. I rarely find hormone causing an itch, but they can make the skin more sensitive and easily irritated.

Your itching sounds like a number of other notes I have had from customers. The indication that the Island Rx temporarily stops the itching is probably from the Clary sage essential oil. Still, the cause is the most important thing to determine.

Your hormone changes could make your skin sensitive to products that you have used for years. Most of the time we see this happening from laundry detergents and products containing sulfates. Tide with Bleach, All-Clear, Tide Free, Dreft et al contain high levels of sulfates and optical brighteners that we believe can cause severe itching. So, it is important to see if you can find out what is coming in contact with your skin that might be irritating it.

As for a possible solution, our MetaCare contains both Neem and Karanja oil. These are known ingredients to help with itching. The problem is that if your itching is wide spread, it is hard to get maximum coverage because it is a lotion. RediCare has similar ingredients and is often used by people that have large itchy areas because it can be sprayed on. Both tend to have a stronger earthy scent, so if you are sensitive to smells at this time, it could be an issue. I personally like the scent and find it soothing.

I really hope this helps!

Regards,

Mickey

To whom may it concern,
I'm fan of your products. I'm using Luminos for my face, and Tortuga lotion for my body, both of which I've been pleased with.
I've recently developed a rash due to my pregnancy (I'm @ 22 weeks and it's a boy!). My doctor has recommended the use of Cortizone, which I'm not too fond of due to the amount of chemicals it contains, not to mention the limited amount of times I can use it within a 24 hour period. I've also been given the option to use a steriod topical cream, which, just like my feeling toward the Cortizone, another chemical-laden product, I'm not too comfortable using, specially being pregnant. I picked up the Island RX Therapeutic Castile Shampoo and Soap, originally for my mild dandruff, but when I noticed on the bottle that this can help with stopping the itching and scratching, I tried it as a body wash. I was surprised to discover the instant relief it gave me, fr the all over itch!! Much to my dismay, this relief can only last so long, as my itching (PUPPS-Pruritic Urticarial Papules) intensifies at night. I often wake up (numerous of times in the night) due to the attack of extremely intense itching and my only weapon is the Cortizone my husband picked up at a local pharmacy. I've now sustained scratches and bloody scabs in random parts of my body fr the crazy itching.
I'm wondering if there's currently a product in the Keys Soap line that's a topical cream or a lotion, which can help with my symptoms/skin disorder. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Cheryl
