Keys Organic Position Keys uses organic ingredients where possible based first on their purity and then on microbiology standards of excellence. Beware that an ingredient that is certified organic only means that it is pesticide free. It does not mean that it is clean or safe. Keys averages 85% organic ingredients. Here is why the balance is not. 1. Wild crafted ingredients from Africa and the rainforest regions cannot be certified organic because of pollinating insect migration patterns. 2. Pharmaceutical grade oils are also generally not certified organic because they undergo stronger testing using a spectral chromatograph to look for impurities and foreign substances. 3. Some ingredients like water and zinc cannot be certified. 4. The industry's biggest issue is that many of the organically certified ingredients are not clean. We have found parabens and gram positive rods like Staph and E coli in certified organic ingredients. Also, many of the certified organic ingredients are grown on farms that have old equipment. In these ingredients, we have detected metal shavings, rust and motor oil. Keys principles are to use the purest ingredients in our products. We microbiology test all incoming raw ingredients as well as review them using a spectral chromatograph for purity and unclaimed ingredients by the provider. |
